I joined an athletics club after being inspired by watching the London 2012 Games and following a lot of persuasion by my older brother, as I wasn't at all confident in myself or my ability.
A year later I was taking part in my first international competition, the IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France. I came away with the T38 100m World Title and a silver medal in the T38 200m, so you could say I made the right choice in following advice and taking up athletics!
My disability means it's not easy for me to learn new things and it takes constant training and practice to get every element of a race right.
I'm fortunate to have an incredible support team who understand and work with me to help me achieve my goals.
